Florida`s law requiring businesses to use E-Verify or alternative documentation to ensure new hires have legal status has been in effect since Jan. 1, but there have been no complaints and no enforcement measures taken against any employer by the Department of Economic Opportunity, despite a spate of hiring as the state emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic.
